Rooted in nature. Growing curious, confident learners.
Riverview Roots Elementary is a proposed public charter school serving students in 4K through 5th grade in the Lyons and greater Burlington, Wisconsin area. Designed in response to the closure of a neighborhood elementary school, Riverview Roots offers families a smaller, relationship-centered learning environment grounded in strong academics, meaningful outdoor experiences, and a deep sense of community.
We believe children learn best when they feel connected—to their environment, their community, and themselves.
Nature as Classroom
Students engage in hands-on learning experiences both indoors and outdoors, using the natural environment to deepen curiosity, build resilience, and make learning meaningful.
Strong Academic Foundation
Our instructional program is grounded in research-based practices, including the Science of Reading and a rigorous, engaging math curriculum, ensuring all students build essential skills and confidence.
Spanish Language Learning
All students begin learning Spanish in 4K, building early language skills and cultural awareness that support long-term academic and personal growth.
Whole-Child Approach
We prioritize social-emotional learning, strong relationships, and a sense of belonging so that every child feels seen, supported, and valued.
Riverview Roots Elementary is a tuition-free public charter school.
Public charter schools are open to all students and are funded with public dollars, just like traditional public schools. They are free to attend and follow state academic standards.
What makes charter schools different is that they are designed around a clear mission and educational approach. This allows schools like Riverview Roots to offer unique programming—such as outdoor learning, environmental education, and early Spanish instruction—while still maintaining strong academic expectations.
At Riverview Roots:
